Lead Operator

Job Description:

During instances where store management is unavailable, this role steps in to kickstart and wrap up store proceedings, which involve launching necessary systems, supervising cash handling procedures, and ensuring the readiness of the sales floor and storage area for daily functionality. Furthermore, responsibilities include unlocking the backdoor to facilitate deliveries and executing tasks like handling product returns, voiding orders, processing customer refunds, securing cash drops in the safe, and furnishing change for cash registers as necessary. The primary objective is to exemplify and provide an exceptional and enjoyable customer service experience.

Roles and Duties:

• Involves customers and patients by acknowledging them and extending help with products and services. Resolves customer grievances and addresses inquiries to maintain a satisfactory customer encounter.
• Leads by example in displaying and disseminating effective customer service strategies to all staff members to offer a distinctive and pleasant customer journey, involving interpersonal customs such as welcoming gestures, eye engagement, politeness, and Walgreens' service principles like proactive aid, recognizing customer requirements, ensuring contentment through service.
• In charge of managing store keys to ensure autonomous opening and closing tasks can be carried out when required, without reliance on managerial oversight.
• Supports and mentors team members in handling warehouse tasks and vendor order processing from start to finish, which includes examining, authorizing, and accepting orders while also allowing vendors access for deliveries by unlocking the back entrance.
• Accountable and reliable for recording all necessary sales on the designated cash register, including keeping track of scanning errors, verifying prices, documenting items not in the database, adjusting prices, and cancelling transactions.
• Helps the manager or assistant store manager in analyzing order exceptions on order release day and contributes to reverse logistics tasks such as dealing with returns and empty packages.
• Assists the manager or assistant store manager in the assessment and enhancement of displays, encompassing promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Carries out resets and adjustments.
• - Manages exact inventory counts; guarantees the precision of on-hand quantities in primary departments, storage areas, and additional stock locations.
• Help in monitoring and enforcing the Outdate program requirements with the team.
• Manages basic department pricing activities, which involve making daily price alterations and verifying the correct display of signage to maintain the accuracy of product pricing. Also, ensures the timely and accurate completion of any extra pricing obligations concerning local regulations and compliance initiatives.
• Help manage bookkeeping functions, such as cash documentation, cash verifications, financial journals, and processing payments as needed or upon demand.
• Aids in the cleanliness and organization of the store's interior and exterior, ensuring a well-kept and orderly appearance while addressing repair needs in the manager's absence or upon the manager's instructions.
• Aids in maintaining stock freshness through effective stock rotation techniques, prioritizing the use of items based on the first in, first out principle.
• Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing store systems and equipment.

• Verifies that compliance with state and regional statutes pertaining to controlled goods such as alcohol and tobacco is maintained.
• Required to conduct examinations of team members' bags before they leave the store.
• Follows all company policies and procedures diligently; cultivates professional relationships with fellow staff members.
• Executes unique assignments and various other responsibilities as instructed.

Training:

• Engages in training activities and successfully accomplishes the PPLs needed by the Manager.
• Obtains and retains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as per state requirements.
• Serves as an intermediary between upper management and non-managerial staff by communicating specified tasks to employees when store management is unavailable.

Qualifications:

• An individual must demonstrate one year of past involvement in leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder responsibilities.
• Fluency in English reading, writing, and oral expression is necessary, except for individuals in Puerto Rico.
• Prioritize knowing how to control store inventory.
