Job Description:

Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening back door of store for deliveries. Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change as requested to cash registers. Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Roles and Duties:

  • Establishes rapport with customers and patients by welcoming them and offering aid with products and services. Addresses customer concerns and answers questions to ensure a satisfactory customer interaction.
  • Serves as a model and distributes customer service best practices among team members to deliver a remarkable and delightful customer experience, emphasizing interpersonal skills like greetings, eye contact, courtesy, and incorporating Walgreens' service traits such as offering proactive help, recognizing needs, and ensuring satisfaction through service.
  • Required to have store keys on hand to independently open and close the store when necessary, without managerial involvement.
  • Provides assistance and coaching to team members on how to effectively manage warehouse activities and the vendor ordering process, from order initiation to validation and acceptance, including unblocking the rear access for vendor deliveries.
  • Taking responsibility and being accountable for documenting all related sales through the designated cash register, including noting scanning mistakes, verifying prices, recording items not found, adjusting prices, and cancelling transactions.
  • Helps the manager or assistant store manager by reviewing order exceptions on the day orders are released and assisting in reverse logistics processes like managing returns and handling empty packages.
  • Assists in the evaluation and development of displays, like promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale items, under the manager or assistant store manager's supervision. Ensures the completion of resets and revisions.
  • - Preserves correct inventory assessments; guarantees the precision of on-hand amounts in primary categories, storage compartments, and supplementary stock sites.
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure they comply with the Outdate program.
  • Takes on the role of overseeing department pricing operations, which involve implementing daily price adjustments and verifying the proper display of signage to maintain accuracy in product pricing. Additionally, ensures the precise and timely completion of any supplementary pricing tasks connected to local regulations and compliance programs.
  • Support in handling financial paperwork, like cash overviews, cash verifications, financial ledgers, and processing bill settlements as necessary or when requested.
  • Contributes to the neat and organized appearance of the store's interior and exterior by communicating repair requests in the absence of the manager or as specified by the manager.
  • Supports the segregation of food products by type to uphold food safety standards, particularly by separating raw items from those that are pre-cooked.
  • Exhibits skills in utilizing store systems and equipment.
  • I am available to assist customers at the pharmacy drive-thru at their convenience.
  • Validates compliance with state and municipal laws concerning regulated merchandise such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
  • Obligated to perform bag checks on team members before they leave the store.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures conscientiously; upholds positive relationships with coworkers.
  • Executes assigned projects and other specified undertakings.

Training:

  • Follows through with the training program and fulfills the PPLs as directed by the Manager.
  • Secures and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as necessary by state mandates.
  • Serves as a connection between management and non-management employees by relaying specified tasks to team members in the absence of store leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have held a leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder position for at least one year.
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and oral communication skills are required, except in Puerto Rico.
  • Elect to focus on store inventory control knowledge.
