Job Description:

Assuming the responsibility of opening and closing the store in the absence of management, including tasks such as starting up essential systems, handling cash transactions, and preparing the floor and stock room for daily operations. This position also involves unlocking the back door for deliveries and completing activities like processing returns, voiding orders, reimbursing customers, securing cash drops in the safe, and providing change to cash registers as needed. The primary focus is on exemplifying and delivering a distinctive and pleasant customer service experience.

Roles and Duties:

  • Initiates customer and patient interaction by welcoming them and providing assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and responds to inquiries to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Demonstrates and imparts customer service best practices to team members to deliver a distinctive and enjoyable customer service encounter, including interpersonal habits like greetings, eye contact, courtesy, as well as Walgreens' service attributes such as offering proactive assistance, identifying needs, providing service until satisfaction, and more.
  • Entrusted with the role of possessing store keys to enable autonomous opening and closing procedures without requiring managerial assistance.
  • Coaches and assists other team members in understanding and executing warehouse and vendor ordering protocols as orders progress from creation to verification and delivery reception, involving the unlocking of the backdoor for vendor shipments.
  • Accountable and reliable for registering all pertinent sales using the designated cash register, encompassing keeping a record of scanning errors, verifying prices, marking down unrecognized items, altering prices, and cancelling transactions.
  • Aids the manager or assistant store manager in assessing order discrepancies on order release day and assists in reverse logistics functions such as returns and dealing with empty packages.
  • Supports the manager or assistant store manager in the assessment and improvement of displays, such as promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Executes resets and revisions as required.
  • - Maintains precise inventory checks; ensures the accuracy of in-stock quantities across core departments, storage places, and overflow areas.
  • Assist in overseeing that team members are following the Outdate program accordingly.
  • Assumes responsibility for executing department pricing tasks, including daily price modifications and ensuring the proper placement of signage for accurate product pricing at the store. Also accountable for accurately and promptly fulfilling any additional pricing duties concerning local regulations and compliance programs.
  • Aid in overseeing financial documentation, such as cash reports, cash tallies, financial records, and managing bill payments as needed or as requested.
  • Supports the cleanliness and orderliness of the store's inside and outside areas by reporting repair needs when the manager is not present or as instructed by the manager.
  • Contributes to inventory management by employing stock rotation practices, following the principle of utilizing the oldest products first before restocking.
  • Is knowledgeable about store systems and equipment operation.
  • I can offer help at the pharmacy pick-up window in line with your needs.
  • Confirms that adherence to state and local legislation regarding controlled items, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco, is in place.
  • Tasked with the duty of examining team members' bags before they exit the store premises.
  • Conforms to all corporate regulations and directives; maintains respectful associations with colleagues.
  • Carries through with special assignments and other designated tasks.

Training:

  • Completes all necessary PPLs as advised by the Manager after attending the training sessions.
  • Acquires and retains appropriate PTCB certification or pharmacy license as dictated by state regulations.
  • Functions as a link between leaders and non-managerial team members by communicating designated tasks to employees when store management is not around.

Qualifications:

  • One year of prior experience in leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder functions is a necessary qualification.
  • Competence in English reading, writing, and spoken language is a prerequisite, with the exclusion of Puerto Rico.
  • Give preference to understanding the management of store inventory.
