Job Description:

In the absence of store management, undertakes the responsibility of commencing and concluding store operations, which entail initializing essential systems, managing cash transactions, and preparing the premises for the day. Additionally, tasks involve unlocking the rear entrance for deliveries and executing functions such as completing product returns, canceling orders, refunding customers, depositing cash in the safe, and providing change to cash registers when requested. The core focus remains on demonstrating and delivering a distinctive and gratifying customer service encounter.

Roles and Duties:

  • Encourages engagement with customers and patients through friendly greetings and assistance with products and services. Solves customer problems and responds to inquiries to ensure a positive customer engagement.
  • Guides and shares customer service excellence guidelines with team members to provide a unique and pleasing customer service experience, incorporating interpersonal behaviors like greetings, eye contact, politeness, as well as Walgreens' service characteristics such as offering proactive help, identifying customer needs, ensuring satisfaction through service, and more.
  • Tasked with the responsibility of holding store keys to enable independent opening and closing duties as necessary, without the direct involvement of management.
  • Guides and trains coworkers on managing the warehouse and vendor procurement process, overseeing the generation, evaluation, and reception of orders, and granting access for vendor shipments by unlocking the back entrance.
  • Responsible and answerable for entering all pertinent sales on the assigned cash register, such as documenting scanning discrepancies, verifying prices, listing items not recognized, modifying prices, and voiding transactions.
  • Assists the manager or assistant store manager in examining order anomalies during order release day and plays a role in reverse logistics activities including managing returns and empty packages.
  • Helps the manager or assistant store manager in appraising and advancing displays, which includes promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale goods. Handles resets and revisions effectively.
  • - Ensures the accuracy of inventory counts; maintains the correctness of available quantities in basic segments, storage points, and extra stock areas.
  • Aid in ensuring team members follow the Outdate program protocols correctly.
  • Takes charge of overseeing basic department pricing functions and implementing daily price amendments to maintain precise product pricing. Additionally, ensures that the appropriate signage is prominently showcased in the store to reinforce pricing accuracy, along with completing any supplementary pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs accurately and promptly.
  • Provide assistance with financial tracking responsibilities, such as cash summaries, cash audits, financial logs, and processing invoices when necessary or as instructed.
  • Contributes to the upkeep of the store's inside and outside spaces by ensuring they are clean and in good order, as well as reporting repair requirements when the manager is not available or as directed by the manager.
  • Assists in the separation of food items based on their readiness for consumption, ensuring that raw and pre-cooked foods are stored distinctly.
  • Shows competency in using store systems and equipment.
  • I can assist customers at the pharmacy window per their instructions.
  • Makes certain that state and local laws pertaining to regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are followed.
  • Responsible for ensuring team members undergo bag inspections before exiting the store.
  • Ensures adherence to all organizational policies and procedures; sustains respectful rapport with peers.
  • Accomplishes specific projects and any additional tasks as designated.

Training:

  • Attends all training sessions and carries out the requested PPLs under the Manager's guidance.
  • Procures and upholds legitimate PTCB certification or pharmacy license as needed by the state.
  • Operates as a mediator between managers and non-management employees by instructing team members on assigned tasks during times when store management is absent.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should possess one year of prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder capacity.
  • Adequate English language skills in reading, writing, and speaking are essential, excluding Puerto Rico.
  • Choose to be knowledgeable about maintaining store inventory levels.
